Inside the top of the R-390A

Visable is the IF strip on the left with the four Collins mechanical filters under the square can on the left. The coil adjustments are under what is called the "Utah plate" (for obvious reasons) on the right. The top and bottom of the radio has their own louvered covers. The radio was designed to be either rack mounted without rails or supports from the front pannel or mounted in a cabinet.
