Operations from Europa Island are rare because access to the island is restricted by the French government. Most of the radio amateurs who operate from Europa are from Reunion Island and go to Europa to handle commercial or government radio traffic.
Michel was on the island for several months but was missed by
quite a few DXers because he operated mostly on CW and was a "speed demon".
Many people couldn't copy his 45-50 wpm. He showed up very regularly on
40 meters for a few weeks.
