The Lower Tahquanemon Falls

I love the lower Tahquamemon Falls. The lower falls are made up of five smaller falls with a Island in the middle that you can row a boat out to.

The first photo is taken through a Hemlock tree.

The third photo is of KC8PCN, KC8UPB, W8VBV and my youngest son. Picture taken by KC8SLH.

Yes this is what we did on Field day.

The fourth photo is of some water Iras at the bottom of the falls that I rowed up to.

The Upper Tahquanemon Falls

KC8PCN in forground with falls in background. The Upper Falls is one of the largest east of the Mississippi.

Another shot of the Falls. The Falls are 50' high and 200' across and can have up to 50,000 gal of water flowing over them per second

Whitefish Point

This is a picture of the light house at Whitefish Point.

The Shipwreck museum is also located here. You can also go stone hunting on the beach

Pictured Rocks

Looking down from pictured rocks at some kayakers.

A look at miners castle

Fayette State park

Fayette was started in the 1860's and closed down smelting operations in 1891 after 24 years. It is located in Snail Harbor.

This is the only shot taken of the town, (sorry) batterys ran low. But I am in it so hope that makes up for it.

Big Spring

Kitch-iti-kipi is Michigans largest sprig at over 16,000 gal of water a minute gushing from fissures in the limestone. The temperature is 45 F

Colonial Michilimackinac

The fort was constructed in 1715 by the French Turned over to the English and now rebuilt by the Americans.

The Bridge and Lighthouse to the east

I have always loved crossing the bridge and more than that I love Lighthouses I tend to take pictures of almost all I come across.

Camp Life

We camped at Brimley the first night then moved on to tahquamenon falls for two nights. I did not get a picture of Brimley it was on of the nicest parks we stayed at. You can see the locks and Canada from there and get into the 147,060 canadian repeter.

Tahquamenom Falls was nice but they do not spray for bugs and they are thick. real thick. The first picture is of our camp at Taquamenom falls.

We camped at Indian Lake the Rest of the vacation and traviled out from there. The last two shots are of our camp there. Indian lake is by far my favorite State Park for camping in the U.P.
