I like sending and receiving QSL cards.  (My goal is to get 10,000 of them, although for that much postage I could get another graduate degree.) I also check out everyone’s web sites.  Something I noticed was that people in different countries tend to have specific types of cards or web site content.  Sometimes the common factor is related to the country.  For instance, stamps from Spain and certain South American countries tend to have images of old trains.  (Let’s not consider how boring most US stamps are now, especially those machine-generated international airmail stamps.)  A very interesting thing I note is how many amateurs in Japan enclose photos of their antennas with the QSL card, and how many have photos of cats on their web sites.  I love those kind of things!  Not having a picture of my steam engine, I am in the interests of international harmony presenting images of my antennas and cats.

(OK, so I lied.  I don’t really have any pictures of my three cats or the antenna here.  You can read about the antenna in another section.)
