Welcome! The South Coast area of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties is a long way from San Luis Obispo. Hence, the Section Manager (Rob Griffin, K6YR) needs help providing the attention that the area deserves. This is where the Assistant Section Manager comes in. I don't believe that a League appointee should be one of the "Invisible People" that only appear at conventions and any place that might present the opportunity for a free meal and drinks. League appointees should appear at club meetings as well as conventions. They should write articles for publication in club newsletters and magazines and, if possible, maintain informative and helpful web sites.

By the way, if you are not a League member, I would like to talk to you about joining with us to make the ARRL the organization you want it to be! There are always vacancies in our field organization and one may be just right for you. I'll be happy to talk to you about that also.
