BAKER - VEGAS "2000"
The 16th annual Baker-to-Vegas Challenge Cup Relay is just around the corner. Additional hams are needed to make the event run smoothly. The LAPD always has wonderful things to say about the radio communicators who keep the race moving and information flowing. If you are interested and will be available April 15 & 16, 2000, get your application now. Contact Joy Levonius KD6FJV at [email protected] or 4370 Larwin Ave., Cypress, CA 90630.
The usual tee shirt and sweatshirt will be foregone this year and a "very nice commerative jacket" will be given to all Ham volunteers. In order to get your jacket, you must have your application entered by 15 January 2000.
The RIO Casino will be the Host Hotel this year. The finish line will be again at the Tropicana. The first runners will depart the Start Line at 1800 on Saturday ending and arrive the Tropicana about 1000 Sunday. The start time has been changed from the usual 1200 because the Nevada State Police don't want runners on their roads during hours of darkness.
Race weekend is always fun and a little hard work. A great chance to spend a day in the desert with something worthwhile to do. Get your application in soon.

in CY2000. It will be April 8th at the Saugus
Speedway. Lets
reserve this date and plan to help out at the Radio Club's booth.

The SCARC officers will hold their board meetings on the third Wednesday of each month, in City Hall Council Chambers or the adjacent meeting room, an hour prior to the Monthly Meeting. These meetings are open to all SCARC members.
The next Board Meeting will be held on March 15, 2000.

The next bi-monthly SCARC test session will be held at City Hall on March 18, 2000. It will start promptly at 8:30 AM. Contact Bud Sabatino at 661-254-3375 or [email protected] to schedule an appointment.
