Re-entering the hobby of my misspent youth. I forgot to renew so I lost my call. But successfully passed elements 1,2,and 3 today (Jan 3) and hopefully element 4 in a few weeks... but for now no Callsign... (I'll get my old one back... eventually) Nevertheless, I am interested in getting to know the local ham club members. Jerald

Happened upon your web site searching SimiValley CA to see the environment my nephew, Michael Wilhelm, has settled in for over 30 years. There is a serous opportunity in my web site for anyone which I wanted to present to him. People of amatuer radio are welcome to "Never pay for another plane ticket ever!" Paid for plane tickets always available at my Cancer Aid Fund Raising web site thanks to a bulk wholesaler who gives us all of the unsold tickets to benefit cancer prevention and research to end the misery it costs families. I am a lapsed ham, not having much time for the hobby over the past ten or so years. But, in the late 1970s, the EBRC and, especially Steve Dodge, were instrumental in getting me licensed. I remember the code classes and the warm, friendly help in getting my first stations up-and-running. I found the website in a fit of nostalgia and it brought back wonderful memories. --- Ravi Narasimhan

Just browsing and thought I'd check out the site. Through your instruction (in conjunction with the West Contra Costa County Adult Continuing Education) I have one class yet to take, followed by the exam for my Tech/No-code license. You can look for me to be a member of EBARQ in the near future! (I've also been spending my Tuesdays working aboard the Red Oak Victory, which you guys led me to.)

I was Vice President of you club in the mid '70s! We used to meet down the hill from Portola Jr. High School in El Cerrito. "The Blown Fuse" got its name during that time during a club naming contest.. A "Mr. Steven Barton" came up with the name for your paper! It is amazing that the name is still the same :-) Those were the days my friends... Best wishes from Art (now AL7EP) and Linda (KD6JFE) in England at this time.
