Field Day Presentation by Charlie, N2PKW – we had some challenging weather, but all who attended had a good time and great experiences.  Some pictures were shown.  We had better antenna isolation this year.  Dean, KF5LWT, got his first HF contact!

One new member Valerie, KF5SQA

Due to an unfortunate (but not lethal) accident involving another Field Day Event, Dan, AE5JG stressed the importance of keeping him informed about Club members’ activities for insurance purposes.

Old Business

Repeater Update by Nick, K5BQJ: W5WA Repeater working well; Charlie, N2PKW with Kurt, K5KDO working with Gautier Mayor Elect, for some space on the water tower (located by Lowe’s Hardware Store on HWY 90) for the 440 and the 146.970 Repeaters.

VE Activity given by Charlie, N2PKW he had one scheduled during Field Day but got sick prior to the Event.  

Richard, AF5AQ informed all about the Club’s Facebook page set up by Curtis Martz, KF5LJJ about a month ago.  Emails about it were sent out to all Club members then.  If you have problems “liking” into it, contact Richard.

New Business

Round Island Lighthouse update:  It’s a go!

Chairman Fred, N5GJ spoke of the survey of the site by the interested Club members, June 15.  Dan, AE5JG has listed working 4 HF stations, and the dates: October 18 – 20.  Call sign for the Event is:  K5R    Glen, K2FF and Randy, W5UE will help us in every way.  QSL card design has been assigned to new Club member Valerie, KF5SQA
