Tennessee Mutual Aid Group (TN‑MAG)

We’re a Middle Tennessee amateur radio club focused on practical, off‑grid communications and mutual aid. Our mission is simple: build resilient radio operators, connect neighbors, and be ready to serve when it matters most.

Who we are

TN‑MAG is a volunteer club of radio operators, families, and neighbors who train together for everyday readiness and disaster response across Tennessee. We practice VHF/UHF simplex, HF (including NVIS), and digital modes such as JS8Call, FLDIGI, and Winlink.

We welcome new hams and the radio‑curious—come learn by doing.

A Parks on the Air (POTA) Special Event

📅 Saturday, November 8, 2025 | 8:00 AM – 9:30 PM (CT)

📍 Henry Horton State Park – POTA US-2950 | Chapel Hill, TN

📻 Operating as W4TMA

This event is designed to raise public awareness about amateur radio’s role in emergency communications. We will be demonstrating portable, off-grid operations at Shelter #1 in the park and engaging with the public throughout the day.

We invite you and your club members to:

  • Join us on-site for fellowship, portable ops, and outreach.
  • Hunt us on the air as W4TMA across multiple bands and modes (SSB, CW, Digital).
  • Help showcase how amateur radio keeps Tennessee connected when modern infrastructure fails.

More details, including operating frequencies and QSL information, will be shared as the event approaches. We look forward to hearing you on the air — and seeing many of you in person!
