Field Day Site
Field Day is ALWAYS the fourth full weekend of June
The 2019 MARC Field Day was on June 22-23
And was at the Maury County Park
MC Bridle & Saddle Club Pavilion
Several members from the Maury Amateur Radio Club met with Mr. Chaz Molder, the Mayor of Columbia and Mr. Andy Ogles, the Mayor of Maury County to sign a Proclamation declaring this week, June 16-23 as Amateur Radio Week in Columbia and Maury County. We appreciate these officials meeting with our group to recognize the Amateur Radio Operators (HAMs), and signing this document.
2019 FIELD DAY
MARC 2019 FD was once again held at the Bridle and Saddle Club pavilion, located in the Maury County Park. FD was on the weekend of June 22nd and 23rd. Several people arrived at the site around 8:00 AM on Saturday putting up antennas and setting up stations. On air operations began at 1:00 PM and lasted until early Sunday morning.
On Saturday evening, June 22nd, operations were shut down for awhile around 6:00 PM for supper and social gathering. This year's meal was a general picnic theme, with everyone bringing food and drinks that was enjoyed by all. After the meal and short meeting, everyone socialized or got back on the air for more contacts.
This year the club had a digital station, Bob(K4HRK), stations operating code or CW, Bill (K4BX) & Jerry (N4EO). There were also phone stations, Andrew (N4MCC) & Paul (WB0CJB) with one of the phone stations for those who were new to Field Day, newly licensed, or visiting with no license and interested in HAM radio so they could get on the air.
Bill Reed W4WRR, Maury County ARES Emergency Coordinator, had a VHF/UHF "talk in" station for those coming to FD that need directions. He was monitoring the W4GGM Repeater on 147.120+ MHz (tone 127.3). Bill will also at the site aswering any questions might have had about ARES and it's various activities.
Operators began to tear down early Sunday morning and went home for some much needed rest. Thanks to everyone that came to Field Day 2019 and helped in any way, prepared food, or just stopped by for a visit. It was a great Field Day and we believe everyone had a wonderful time. We always want you, your family, and friends to come out and have LOTS of fun with us at any event !
