Inter-club (HTA/KVHFC)
DX Challenge
-
A inter-club DX Challenge, between
members of the Hilltop Transmitting Assn (Felton PA) and
Keystone VHF Club (York PA), started in 2015 to stimulate
on-air activity and have fun.
The DX challenge in 2015 focused on 17m. The goal was to work as
many DXCC countries and CQ zones as possible within calendar year 2015.
Only contacts on 17m (18 Mhz) counted.
Contacts could be made on any mode. The maximum allowed
transmitter power was 100w and antennas needed to be single-element
(i.e. dipoles, verticals, loop) -- no beams allowed.
The overall winner for 2015 was WA3USG from KVHFC (155 countries, 37 zones)
with WA1HEW (HTA) coming in second.

The DX Challenge for 2016 was focused on 40m.
Points are awarded for working each US state and DXCC country on all
three modes (CW, SSB, Digital). The highest possible score is
1167 (339 DXCC + 50 States = 389 x 3 modes)
