Skywarn Training Information 2018
For anyone interested Skywarn Training for 2018 for Crawford County & surrounding areas will be held March 27th at 6:30pm at St. Agatha Church Social Hall at 1001 South Main Street, Meadville, PA 16335. Sponsored by the National Weather Service, Cleveland, Ohio, Crawford County Emergency Management Agency & the Crawford Amateur Radio Society.
Description for the course is, being a storm spotter not only means dedication, but also training. Each spring the Cleveland office of the National Weather Service trains members of public safety agencies, emergency management officials and amateur radio operators on spotting techniques. The goal of the training is not just to recognize tornadoes, but also to have some understanding of storm structure, which in turn better prepares the spotter for the extreme and unusual circumstances. SKYWARN Training is FREE and open to the public. You will be trained and enrolled in the program.
The audience for this session consists of Fire, EMS, Law inforcement, Amateur Radio Operators, Local EMA Coordinators, School Staff, Industries, Health & Medical, All First Responders, Media, Special Needs Facilities, and the Public are invited.
