· 12PM Pacific Time (standard time is 2000Z)
· 14.270MHz or nearest clear frequency (often 14.267MHz)
· Checking in welcome from any interested amateur
This net is scheduled for 12PM Pacific Time (standard time is 2000Z). The net meets on 14.270MHz or the nearest clear space (frequently 14.267MHz). When propagation makes it feasible 21.360MHz will be attempted.
The net is primarily for communication between club stations at Northrop Grumman facilities, employees and retirees of NGC or any of the companies now incorporated in NGC - such as Westinghouse, TRW, Space Technology, Aero Jet General, Hallicrafters, Nordon, etc. It is an open net with checking in welcome from any interested amateur.
The net control station is W3HEM with a west coast NCS function by either W6TRW or WA6AQQ. Operating as NCS from W3HEM thus far are: WR3X, K3FQP, AB3CA and W4PBG. Any HEMARC member who would like to be checked out to serve as NCS should contact any of the above.
The net is normally coordinated and reported by W4PBG ([email protected]) who will add any interested person to the weekly report upon request.
Typically the net will include: WA6AQQ, Woodland Hills, CA; KW4V, Orlando FL; WA5RHF, Ft. Worth, TX; W6NGC Pomona, CA; plus between one and three local HEMARC members from their home QTH and 1 to 15 casual stations. DX stations have also participated on occasions. Additional checkins are very welcome.
4) The NGC "non-Working Hours" Net
The FIRST SATURDAY of every month has the NGC employees (including legacy companies - Northrop, Grumman, Westinghouse, Hallicrafters, Litton, TRW, Newport News, Ingalls, Ryan, you name it, if NGC now owns it you're welcome to join in!) net on 14.260 plus or minus a few at 8 AM PT, 9 AM MT, 10 AM CT, 11 AM ET, 1500Z. W3HEM does the initial call up on 14.260. If that band does not pan out after 10 minutes or so, 21.360 will be tried. W3HEM will pass the call around to be sure as much of the country as possible is covered.
