Article Submission Rules

Have you ever wanted to express your opinion on an Amateur Radio subject, or have a special project you want to brag about, or have an interesting radio story? Maybe you have a review of some product or event you went to. If it directly relates to Amateur Radio, you can submit it for publication here.

But there are some basic rules:

(1) All articles submitted must relate directly to Amateur Radio. No exceptions!

(2) Submitting an article is not a guarantee that it will be published. Publishing of a given article is at the sole discretion of the publisher.

(3) All articles submitted will be subject to editorial discretion. This means any article will be edited for length, grammar and spelling and formatting. Any inflammatory, slanderous, or libelous language will be edited, with all consideration made to reduce these conditions without affecting the purpose or content of the article. All edited articles will be sent back or made available to the author for review prior to publication online. I will work with you!

(4) These articles are submitted on a voluntary amateur basis. No author or associated entity shall expect, ask, or receive any compensation, payment, or dispensation, of any kind, once the article is submitted, or anytime after that.

(5) All articles submissions are to be in Microsoft Word format or HTML 4.0. These is the only accepted formats. Any other formats or file type will not be accepted for publication. HTML documents must be in standard HTML 4.0 protocols, with no tables, VRML, Java, Flash, or other non-markup coding. Only basic markup language composed in a text editor is permitted. If you do not understand what this is, then please submit a Word document.

(6) All articles submitted become the sole property of this web site.

(7) All articles must be in English language and should be spell checked before submission. Use of proper grammar will be required before submission. No fancy fonts or weird capitalization will be permitted, unless discussed with the editor prior to submission and is deemed relevant at that time. Please try to avoid cheesy expressions, unless important to the content, or if meant to be humorous.

(8) Associated images can be submitted with any submitted article. All images must be JPEG (.jpg) format and must be a maximum of 250 pixels in width only. Images will be resized accordingly at the editors discretion. Images will be inserted into the submitted article according to the editors criteria. Images must be of a high quality. If the images are not of a high quality, I have the capacity to improve them; but I really do not want to have to do this kind of work if it can be avoided. Send a sample image to me prior to article submission, so that I can make a determination of its quality.

(9) All articles must be submitted by licensed Radio Amateurs, and your identity and email address must be verifiable at the QRZ.com database. All submissions must be sent from the email address shown as the authors at the QRZ.com web site. Your true name will appear in the last line of the article along with your callsign. No anonymously penned articles will be published; I feel one should stand by his words. If you can't deal with this stipulation then please do not submit an article. If you use a professional pseudonym and prefer to use it, your true identity must be verified by the editor prior to submission.

Please submit all articles to [email protected] as a file attachment, in the above mentioned file formats only.
