JUNE 30 – JULY 3, 2001

We went to NYC on the above listed dates. We arrived, and checked into our hotel in N.Bergen, NJ. We then took a shuttle to the Port Authority of NY, and took an afternoon stroll around NYC, before getting some dinner and returning to our hotel.

The next morning, we got up, and went into the city once again. We enjoyed lunch at Don Pepi’s pizza in Penn Station. We ventured to the Statue of Liberty by mid-afternoon. The high temperature that day was into the 90s and very humid. We waited in line for about 45 min. and climbed to the pedestal of the statue, took pictures, and left. We arrived back to Manhattan, and skies were darkening. We went for dinner at TGI Fridays, then walked for a little while before returning.

The next day, we went into the city and went to Little Italy and Chinatown. We explored down there for most of the day, then went to the 86th floor observation deck at the Empire State Building. We stayed until after dusk, and many of the pics we took there are below.

The next day we woke up early, and went to Rockefeller Center to see the Today Show. The Backstreet Boys were performing that morning. We watched them from inside Dean & Deluca, the popular coffee shop adjacent from the Today window. We then hit a couple of stores before returning to the hotel, and driving the 5 hours back home.

JUNE 17, 1999

For our 6th grade field trip, we went to NYC for the day. We visited the SONY museum, the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Ctr., and had dinner in NJ at the Medieval Times. That is why some pics are dated 6/17/99, however all the rest were from 2001.
