Who is this Roger W2INY? To start I currently live in Sarasota Fl in a senior mobile home park. I was born in a little town in the Adiroundack Mountains of NY State, Called Cranberry Lake. My family moved to Elmira Heights NY in 1928 and said I had to go along. What you expect at 5 years of age? I went through public school in Elmira Heights NY. Graduated from Thomas Edison High School in 1941. I graduated from Elmira Business Institute in General Accounting. Then my Uncle "SAM" said he needed me. I spent the next three years on the island of New Guinea. Was fortunate and did not see combat. I spent the war pounding a typewriter. After the war I went to the State University in Farmingdale NY. I graduated in Construction Technology. The SECOND biggest event in my life took place there, I met my Wife, Joan VanDerzee. We were married in 1948. Also, in 1948 I went in the building business with my Father. In 1978, I closed out the building business. In 1978 the BIGGEST event of my life took place. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Life was changed forever as far as I was concerned. I went on a few short term work trips to an Anglican Church Health Center in what is now the country of Papua New Guinea. I have been active in church work all my adult life, but only found out 1978 that works do not get you to heaven. I now understand that only through FAITH in Jesus Christ are we saved.
