HAM of the YEAR

The Amateur Radio Service is more than a hobby. It is a service that provides communication and leadership skills to many segments of the community. The Ham of the Year award recognizes these charateristics and bestow an annual award to members meeting these ideals.

Recipients are members of MARC that demonstrate outstanding service to the amateur service in this idealistic sense

ELMER of the YEAR

Adolph Goodsell - W1ICQ (SK) was a charter member of MARC and the epitome of an Amateur Radio Elmer. Many members and non-members owe their early on-the-air experiences to Adolph. In memory of his mentoring and tutelage, the Meriden Amateur Radio Club dedicated and named the Elmer of the Year award in his honor.

Recipients are members of MARC that show those unique Elmering qualities.
