What is Wit Radio? WIT Radio is a special interest club within the WIT Club. WIT members who are also licensed amateur radio operators are eligible to be members of WIT Radio. WIT Radio supports general and emergency communications at the WIT Grand National Rally (GNR) held annually in Forest City, Iowa. At GNR and other special events, we use our club call sign, WØWIT. Many WIT Radio members check into the FMCA ARC Nets at 1300 Eastern Time on 14307.5 kHz daily (M-F). Wednesdays are known as "Winnebago Wednesdays" -- when checking in, please mention that you're a member of WIT, WIT Radio or a Winnebago product owner. WIT Radio maintains its own email distribution list. If you change your email, please notify the Secretary. "WIT Radio" is a Service Mark of WITCARS |

2023 Grand National Rally Recap The last WIT GNR has come and gone. Last? Yes last. As of the close of the rally the WIT Club was dissolved, and all future rallies will be called "Camp Winnebago". Next year it will be "2024 Camp Winnebago" with the theme being "Disco". So how does this affect you? All WIT Chapters and special interest groups were dissolved. Chapters and groups can continue to function, but they will have no support or recognition from Winnebago Industries other than if a chapter/group wants to designate a contact Winnebago will forward that info to anyone who might inquire about a certain interest. Anyone who owns either a Winnebago Products self-propelled vehicle or a towable is automatically a member. Going forth, anyone who purchases a Winnebago Product automatically is permitted to attend the "Camp". The perks that came with your WIT membership, discounts et al, will continue until your expiration date. Then, if you want to continue with these perks you will need to join "Go Life Perks" for $40/year, to continue getting the discounts. What does the WIT Radio Club look like now? Really no difference. Under our current bylaws we have officers. I am the president and Larry Hill is the secretary / treasurer. We have both held these offices for many years and will continue to do so until the close of the 2024 "Camp Winnebago".You as members of WIT Radio have to make a choice about the future. If we convert to the new system, you will need to designate a "Point of Contact" or you can continue by electing a new president and a treasurer//secretary. You as members of WIT Radio have to make a choice about the future. If we convert to the new system, you will need to designate a "Point of Contact" or you can continue by electing a new president and a treasurer/secretary. There was only one WIT Radio Club member at this the 2023 camp, thus no business meeting was held. Activity in WIT Radio has been dwindling over the last decade for many reasons, mostly it is just a change in the times and the way people spend their leisure time.Larry and I would like to invite all WIT Radio members to attend the 2024 "Camp Winnebago" for one last get together before either a new generation of members takes over or we just close the club down. Anyone who is a licensed amateur radio operator is invited to park in the WIT Radio Club row. Remember, we are a social club. If you want to set up a portable station, you operate under yours or the clubs call sign WØWIT. The club has no equipment; thus, you will need to bring whatever you plan to use with you and share with the group as you see fit. We have already donated all of the club's photos and documents to the Winnebago History Society located at the Heritage Park adjacent to the Winnebago Grounds. We also propose to donate the remaining funds in the chapter's treasury to the society to further their work. I don’t want any WIT radio member to feel that they do not have a voice in our future. I am asking that you mail/email me your comments and thoughts about the future of WIT Radio and please let either Larry ([email protected]) or me ([email protected]) if you plan on attending this year's "Camp Winnebago" which will open for reservations sometime in April.
