FIELD
DAY
June 28,29 - 2003
WØDYD
1B - MN
WØDYD operated portable zero on the Stan Erickson farm about 6 miles east of Mora, MN, on highway 23. Operation was on 40, 20 and 15 meters using a Yaesu FT100D, emergency power, and 2 wire antennas strung in the trees. HF conditions were quite good from this location both days of the contest. Field day is a test of emergency equipment and the operator by exchanging a number associated with the operating conditions and the state location. Hours of operation start around noon on Saturday and end late Sunday afternoon.
I contacted 189 stations by morse code (CW) and 39 stations by voice (Single Sideband). Here are some pictures of the setup.
