The 24 Ghz SSB station consists of a 100+ milliwatt transverter which
is capable of running barefoot with a 1.2 Ghz IF rig. For long hauls, a
4-watt TWT and low noise preamp may be mounted seperately on the tripod.
A long piece of WR-42 flexible waveguide connects the transverter to the
TWT/preamp. Having the equipment right behind the dish minimizes loss to
the feed. The dish is a modified 24" Avantek dish with Chapparal feed.
