Ant: Force 5 , 7 ele 5 band mounted @ 20 mt height

Location : Pokhra , Nepal

Aircraft: unknown model said to have made by MIG.

Owned by Avia Club Nepal , they have 3 aircrafts 2 of which is tandom 2 seater as seen in this pic and one is side by side. They charge approx 200 US$ /Hour.

Owned & operated by Qatar Aeronotical College from Doha Internation Airport.Charges are QR 400 & QR 550 solo and with instructor respectively.

A71BR was gracious enough to let me try the controls for few miles.

Me in next Ultralight flying below . If booked a day or two earlier , one can have family outing together. After the flight every passenger is given a certificate of flight with photo in it.Additional prints of photo will cost you around NR 750.The digital camera is mounted on the right wing tip & remotely operated.

We were bit anxious hanging under this kite ...

One another thing the pilot failed to mention to us before taking off was that this Ultralights are fitted with parachutes which can support whole craft incase wing collapses or some similar disaster. This info would definitely given me a bit of comfort. Pilots are very experienced.

She became the youngest flyer so far to have flown here in this ultralight.She was 5 years and 7 months old. Scene and view are beautiful (Hint: Fly early morning else the whole valley is covered with fog. Don't carry any loose items.This sidebyside model is not suitable/comfortable for tall/ 6' people)

I guess age has some thing to do with " No Fear " .

I flew this version next day and pilot let me hold the control for 10-15 min thrice. We were out for 1 hour flight towards mountains ( ). I was surprised at the strength required to steer this aircraft (no power steering..there is trick for that too however pilot did not reveal it to me until we landed). All communication between passenger and pilot is via hand signals. Pilot uses a small Yaesu aviation handie to check in with tower control. Don't be surprised if he lets you hold the control while he fiddles with the headset cable!! :). I was bit cramped in it as my knees were touching the dashboard one way or other ( only way was to cross them). It was fun any way and hope to do it again some day.

For some reason this antenna was doing better than 2 mt EB @ 2 mt band !!

Time being I have removed these antennas and use Nagoya dual band virtical for my sat work.Veritcal does a good job with least problems and offers very low profile.

Rig: IC 756 Pro III with GHZ 4000 PS , FT 8900 , Diamond 5 band wire dipole.

Computer setup for FS2003 with 22" screen + 17" screen split. Logitect force feedback Joystick

20 mt band Inv V antenna on top of the hotel using 9 mt Spider fiber glass Pole. The antenna worked well in all bands except 40Mt with built in tuner of IC746.

These OM helped me with mic and spider pole for VU4 Ops without which it would not have been any fun. Thanks to DL OMs.
