Amateur Radio Association of Madurai has been formed 1st January, 1997 by the active HAMs of Madurai with a view to promote HAM Radio among the public of Madurai. In the past few months, it has built a rapport with the public by conducting regular monthly meetings. Now it is proposed to conduct HAM Radio Courses for members to obtain Licences. The training session consists of approximately 20 weekly classes, each 2 hrs, of duration, on Sundays and any convenient public holidays, at an easily accessible place in Madurai.

Those interested to join this training classes must have a working knowledge of English and elementary arithmetics and must be genuinely interested. They must become members of ARAM by paying the annual subscription. School students are allowed 50% concession. Fee for the classes is not collected separately.
