In 1982, I started my Ham life. The colony also started to issue restricted license ( 50 Mhz and above only ) within the same year.

Since that time I totally dedeciated to my interest. I have pursued in attempting to work as many different countries of the world through VHF/UHF and Amateur Satellites. For same reason know to myself that time, I also made a point of working DXCC on amateur satellites. This is naturally quite a difficult task for most of the Hong Kong stations where we are living in high rise apartment. Setting up of good antennas system on the roof is almost impossible. For my case, my previous QTH is a 38 multi-storey apartment building and I am located on 9th floor. I can only mounted the antenna ( 12 element for UHF & 8 element for VHF ) along side the window and it could only rotate 180 degree. With this angle, only half of the world I could made QSO with.Although it is so difficult, but it can accomplished in fourteen years. I have worked 104 countries and confirmed 101 - first station in Hong Kong to have the SATELLITE DXCC. I was also lucky that the award was issued before July 1, 1997 with the old prefix VS6. After the transfer of sovereignty for the territory from United Kingdom to the People's Republic of China, our prefix changed to VR2.
