In Memory of Our Dear Friend

VO1NNP / Norman Penney
July 01, 1932 - March 09,2000

Norm started out in radio back in the seventies when CB was all the rage. It wasn't until he retired that he began to form an interest in Ham Radio. He was one of the founding members of the Baccalieu Amateur Radio Klub in 1993 and recieved his amateur licence shortly after that. In 1997 he served the club as it's president, and in other positions as the years passed. Also in 1997, Norm recieved his 5 wpm Morse Code qualification and later that year passed the 12 wpm test as well, giving him full access to all HF bands. Over the years, Norm volunteered much of his time to BARK and the projects they had undertaken. He could be found at Field Days, school outings, DXpeditions, and various others projects.

Norm was a very active member of BARK and remained so until his passing. He was a good friend and always added to the fun of radio. He will be missed by all who had known him.
