13/5 Willis Island, VK9WI DXPedition - UPDATE 0300 UTC:
The
VK9WI DXpedition team have safely arrived at Willis Island.
The 43 foot catamaran "Bach & Byte" landed approximately 1500 UTC
Friday, where the local time was 0100 very early Saturday morning. After a
much deserved nap, it was 23 degrees Celsius and raining at 7am local this
morning there.
The
plan to have the 20/15/10 station operation by about 0400 UTC.
Shortly after that expect the Low-band station, followed by the WARC station to
be operational.
Alan,
VK4BKM, reports that the island is home to literally thousands of Booby birds.
