Use standard phonetics - see the sidebar >>.

Unexpected non-standard phonetics can make difficult copy.

Listen to the operator.  Simple huh? ...many don't do it.
Listen for information on where he's listening (generally split listening up), and which specific areas he's targeting.  Call when we are looking for your area, not others.

?

Are you 100% sure our operator was returning your call?

There could have been another station calling us with a similar call to your own - listen.

If you believe you made a 100% QSO but don't appear in the log it may be due to a simple and unintentional typing error.

It may be possible to resolve problems of this nature, but you must be able to prove it was a good contact.  The following will assist:

Record your QSO on audio tape, MiniDisc or on your PC.

?

Replay it to yourself and check.  Was it a good QSO?

?

Can you clearly hear our operator repeat your callsign 100%?

If it is absolutely clear and you are logged incorrectly then it must be a typing error during entry.  If you can't make it out 100% then unfortunately you never made the QSO.

What next?  Get a copy of your QSO recording into your computer.

Please don't send us a WAV file - they are way too large!

Send it as a Real Audiotm file    max 100kb please

Real Audiotm encoder software is freely available from;  http://jimhartley.com/ratutor.html

RealProducertm 8.5 Basic available from (bottom of page);

http://www.realnetworks.com/products/producer/basic.html

Both of these will convert a large WAV file into a smaller RA file.

Have a play, they're easy to use!

Send us your QSO details (Date, UTC, Band, Mode & Callsign) and the RA file so our QSL Manager (who has the final say) can make an informed decision on the validity of your log entry.

If in doubt, and you are able to, then please re-work us... just to make sure

...good luck in the pile ups!
