WHERE TO MEET

1. Training room, South Australian Sea Rescue Squadron, Barcoo Road, West
Beach, SA 5024 (see the red circle on the map)

If in doubt ask for directions at the radio base or call me at 0417858547.
If you go to the radio base and ask for the training room next to the boat shed they should be able to guide you.

WHAT TO BRING
1. Passport photo : 35 mm wide × 45 mm high
2. Cash, cheque or credit card payable on the morning of the course
See COSTS below.
3. Personal photo identification card : Drivers licence, passport, student
card or employment ID card (in the absence of a photo ID then
at least any one of – Medicare card, Credit card or Pensioner card and
Electricity, Gas or Telephone account showing name and address)
4. Pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, watch and a non-programmable
calculator
5. Something to eat (lunch on both days on both days might be a good
idea!). Coffee, tea and biscuits will be available during the breaks

Course manuals :
If you need a foundation licence manual just drop a note to
[email protected] or see an AHARS official.
They can be purchased for $20/- ($15 for current WIA member.)

Exam information :
FOUNDATION LICENCE.
Duration of theory/regulations paper : 30 minutes
Practical assessment : 40 minutes

STANDARD and ADVANCED LICENCE.
Duration of examination
Advanced / Standard theory paper : 90 minutes
Advanced / Standard regulations paper : 30 minutes
Practical assessment : 40 minutes (exempt if you have a
foundation / standard licence)

Give some thought :
Give some thought on what call sign you would like to have. You will
need to state your preferences on the paper work that you put in on the day
of the examination. The format of your call sign would be VK5F*** The
three * are three letters of your choice (for eg., VK5FASH)

and type in your call sign of choice and check if it is available
