My Portable set up is base on a Block of land on Victoria's 90 Mile Beach, approx 225 Km's from Melbourne CBD, On the block we have got 2 caravans and a awning between the to caravans. No power, only battery power, with 6, 6Volt batterys in Series & Parrel, with a 240Volt generator we take with us when we go to the block, our Block is only 250 Metres from the Ocean, and the elevation is 2 Metres above sea level.

The Antenna is 2 wave lenghts on 160 Metres in a Loop at 45 feet above the ground in a triangle, feed with open wire feeder, into a Home made tuner, and with a Alinco DX70TH Radio, 100 Watts, and is tuned from 160 Metres to 6 Metres all the HF band and with 6 Metres as well with a differant Tuner, The Antenna works very well in all directions.

This antenna works with a closed circuit and with a open circuit with the tuner, we have found that the closed loop works the best when a storm or electrical type atomospherics disturances.

The 90 Mile beach is the worlds Longest unbroken Beach in the World, from the Sand Hills edge to the Waters Edge is about 75 to 100 Feet Wide depending on the tide of course.
