MY HOMEBREW MODIFIED WIRE ANTENNA'S

THIS IS A PAGE ALL ABOUT DEVELOPING A WIRELESS NETWORK USING WIRELESS NETWORK CARDS THAT ARE BEING USE WITHIN THE 2.4 GHZ BAND ISM BAND BY ADDING A MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF EXTERNAL ANTENNA'S.

We are aiming to establish a fast, free wireless network based on existing off-the-shelf 802.11 equipment utilising radio frequency's around 2.4Gig, allowing us to form a wide network exchanging information and other goodies. We are using various types of IEEE 802.11b hardware for wireless data communication in the 2.4GHz band. This hardware operates license-free!

Here in ballarat we are just starting of in this venture and if you would like to have a look at our web page here it is BALLARAT WIRELESS where you will be able to see what where been up to and whats happening.

You can also have a look at the Ballarat Node Database at BALLARAT NODE DATABASE

WHAT EQUIPMENT I USE HERE

THESE ARE THE TWO CARDS I USE

DWL-660 AND DWL-520+

FOR MY WIRELESS NETWORK I USE A OLD AMD P-400 FOR THE BASE STATION AND ITS SETUP FOR TELNET AND FTP SERVERS AND WITHIN THIS THERE IS THE DLINK DWL-520+ PCI CARD AND ITS CONNECTED TO A MODIFIED WIRE STYLE ANTENNA(SEE ABOVE)

I HAVE A OLD 486 DX4-100 LAPTOP AND I HAVE A DWL-660 DLINK DWL-660 PCMCIA CARD FOR IT
