LIPD frequencies and usage

LIPD walkie talkies

I bought both a D-1099 and a DC-1000.
My experience with both tells me that the Jaycar unit has more features and greater receiver sensitivity than the DSE unit. However, while I have returned two of the Jaycar units as faulty and the one I have now is not working, the DSE unit has never let me down.

It's possible to buy a 400 mw UHF CB walkie talkie for around the same price as you would pay for a 20 mw LIPD unit.
Possibly the only reason for buying an LIPD walkie talkie is that you will have the use of frequencies that are almost guarenteed to be clear. I used 434.025 Mhz on my LIPD walkie talkies for several days while helping to erect a fence. I never heard anyone else.
