My 23cm EME setup has taken about 2 years to build and perfect. I am happy that I now have a system
which is close to optimum.
I started with a 3m mesh TVRO dish, which I then extended to give the current antenna diameter of 3.9m.
I put a lot of effort into getting az/el drive system working properly. I use the VK5DJ tracking system
which works very well. It was resonably easy to build and get working and has been very reliable. I find that I can
point the 3.9m antenna so that it is never more than about 0.2dB off the antenna gain maximum (23cm).
I purchased the OK1DFC feed from Zdenek. It has also performed very well. I have built 2 of the G4DDK LNA's.
Again both work well and have noise figures of around 0.3 dB.
I have mostly been active using JT65C, but am keen to do more CW. I have been working on improving my CW.
