- VE5RC/VE5QRP First Rig -

I have recently come across a copy of the first rig I ever used to get on the air as VE3FCH from Hamilton, Ontario in 1962. I have the original Popular Electronics magazine which has the schematic for my first transmitter using a 6L6 and a tapped coil for cw on the bands. Some day I'll be reproducing this rig. I used a converted R1155A receiver and had to construct my first power supply to get this receiver going. I understand the R1155A was used in the Lancaster bombers. I have 2 images here: the first one is the front cover of the Popular Electronics magazine with the transmitter article in it and the second is one of the actual pages showing the unit.

I'm trying to improve the quality of all images so that eventually these will be much clearer.
