My hobby in radio is contesting, competitions on HF bands. This is an exciting activity for me, which I really like. Mostly I work in telegraph contests. I will not describe the pre-Canadian period, but will describe only those contests in which I took part while in Canada. Let me remind you that for the contests I use the ICOM 756 transceiver and sometimes the AL-811H amplifier (500 watts). Antennas - R8, eight-band vertical, Delta at 3.5 and Inv.Vee at 1.8 MHz. It is certainly hard to compete with the owners of directed 6-8 e-mail. antennas Yagi, etc., but .. the more they are so rich and happy :-)) All my antennas are installed on the roof of a 20-story building, about 60 meters above the ground. The total height above sea level is 240 meters.
