A number of other changes have also been incorporated. See the README and CHANGE HISTORY for details. -- Steve Muncy, NI5V Dallas, TX USA To: Subject: [Elecraft] Spectrum Analyzer for Mac? Jerry - There are several programs for the Mac that do the same (or better) job as Spectrogram does for the PC. I used MaCRO to align my K-1 and it should do fine for the K-2 alignment. It runs fine on a stock 6100/66, so you shouldn't have any problems with it if you have a newer faster machine. MaCRo is shareware. There are several other programs that do the same thing. A web search will be a good place to start, as will: http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/mac/ Check out the offerings under both Oscilloscopes and Spectrum Analyzers. I hope that this helps. If not let me know and I can dig around some more. - Dr. Megacycle KK6MC/5 -- James R. From: Steve Muncy To: elecraft at mailman.qth.net I saw this and tried it and was disappointed......of course, this is version 0.1, but it still quits a few minutes after starting because you haven't registered it. ;-) If you haven't seen it, you might look at Amadeus II (try versiontracker to download it). It is shareware, and has realtime spectrum, oscilloscope, multiband RTA, and waterfall displays. When I update the K2 and realignment, this is the program I'll use on my filters. I used it a few days and immediately registered it. And for the tonally challenged, it it makes it a snap to zero-beat stations on the K2! Unfortunately EQP is upon us before test software is available, but things should be pretty interesting _well_ before the next EQP. >just curious: How many Elecraft owners are Mac OS X users, or >interested in Java based programs for the K2? You might be surprised. The Elecraft folks are Mac users. In fact, most hardware development for Elecraft products takes place on Macintoshes. So, they are indeed interested in K2 compatible software for the Mac as well as for the PC. B K2 so it was time to re-do the filters. Windows users utilize Spectrogram but that's not an option for Mac OSX users. I used a relatively new program called "SignalScope" to tune the filters and it worked great (at least after I figured it out -- maybe I should have read the manual.) Anyway for those Mac users who want to try this shareware for fiddling with filters, you can download it from: http://www.benjaminfaber.com/ I sending him my shareware fee today. _____________________________________________ Steve A.
