Works like a million $$$ with no discernible ill effects on K2 performance. I have two IF outputs from the K2: the output of the Post-Mixer amplifier at a nominal 4.915 MHz and the output of the AGC mixer output amp at a nominal 156 KHz. With the first, I have all the PRO features including the Spectrum Scope, but according to Eric I am losing some front-end performance. Using the AGC tap point, I maintain the K2 front-end integrity and still have access to all PRO functions except the Spectrum Scope. I find that I tend to use the IF tap point for SSB and the AGC tap for CW. It really adds to the capabilities of the K2 to have IF DSP filters, automatic and manual notch filters, DSP noise reduction, etc. etc. The entire mod requires three components plus two lengths of RG-174 and two BNC connectors. I'll try to put together a detailed writeup sometime this week for others who might want to evaluate this approach. Of course, this is all for home station use. For field work, the K2 performs exactly as before. BTW, in QSO with Eric on 18.132, he "blessed" this mod and encouraged me to put it on the list as well as to continue doing "interesting things" with the K2. 73/72, George Amateur Radio W5YR - the Yellow Rose of Texas In the 57th year and it just keeps getting better!
