It only serves to increase the frequency rolloff when the K2 is used in SSB mode. It's NOT in the manual, but its removal has been recommended for quite a lengthy period of time. 73, Tom Hammond N0SS Joe, K2MUF, wrote: >In the process of making the K2 modifications for use with >the KPA100 I just happened to notice that during the construction >(about a year ago) of the K2 I did not install the 10pf C180 that >is used in the 2nd Xtal filter. I just busted a 10pf cap making the frequency counter probe. With a vise clipped on one end and a hemostat on the other, the cap loses.... Now I can use C180 instead! Not as nice as the tiny probe cap, but it still fits inside the heat shrink tubing OK. Thanks! 73 de KC7IT (K2 #2640 in progress) +++++++++++++++++++++
