Excellent idea! I can't tell you how many times I've gone "around the circuit" just to find out what filter was selected. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Date: Thu, 11 Jan 2001 20:21:51 -0800 From: "Ron D'Eau Claire" Subject: RE: [Elecraft] Re: XFIL button presses Don wrote: "I often press the XFIL button 4 times just to get back to my original filter after pressing it once to see where it is currently set." That would be my biggest concern with the idea. It *is* clumsy to press two buttons to view the current filter, but I think it would be far clumsier to have to press twice or press and hold three times in a row to get 'back' to the filter I want. I am usually more concerned with how the signal sounds in the filter than the particular bandwidth, so I push the button and cycle through different settings. I'd hate to see *that* become a slower process. My guess is that I'd find having to press twice or press-and-hold more painful that occasionally pressing two buttons to see which filter I'm using. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
