Has anyone else encountered this problem? This pot should be seated until the SHOULDERS of the legs (not the BODY) seat flush against the PC board. 73, Tom N0SS +++++++++++++++++++ From: "Bob - AG5Q" To: , "Elecraft" Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Control Panel resistance checks? Date: Sat, 8 Feb 2003 13:10:37 -0600 Hi Tom, C7 will not affect the resistance readings. The points you named are all very high resistance points and the actual measured value will depend on the kind of meter you use (because the test voltage applied will vary from meter to meter) and the orientation of the test probes. I measured 1.8 meg ohms on all these points on my K2. The main thing is that you don't have an unusually low value ( less than 100K ) which might indicate a solder bridge somewhere. Looks like you're okay :-) 73/ Bob - AG5Q ----- Original Message ----- From: "C T Morton" To: "Elecraft" Sent: Saturday, February 08, 2003 12:37 PM Subject: [Elecraft] Control Panel resistance checks? > Hello, > Am doing resistance checks on control panel...manual page 20; > The Capicator C7 is missing and being sent from company. > I am not getting any reading from the following: > U6 pin 13 or 14 > U8 pins 2,15,16 > Looking at the schematics, C7 is in AGC circuit and wonder if it somehow > affects the other readings. > Any suggestions? But you MUST make some sort of mark on the "Real" pin #1 end, that's WAY more obvious than the notch. It may be 2 years or more (or someone else doing it) before that chip is pulled and replaced, and if it's put back "frontwards", well let's just say that would be bad Dan. Bright Pink #1 in fingernail polish at the appropriate end might do the trick! -----Original Message----- From: elecraft-admin at mailman.qth.net [mailto:elecraft-admin at mailman.qth.net]On Behalf Of W2xn at aol.com Sent: Saturday, February 15, 2003 11:19 PM To: elecraft at mailman.qth.net Subject: [Elecraft] Building K2 Control Board Hi folks, this is my first post. I am building the K2 Control Board and mistakenly installed the 40 pin IC socket for U6 (the microcontroller) with the notch to the right instead of to the left. I had trouble getting the pins to drop in and didn't want to bend them, so I ended up with the board turned left for right -- and put the socket in that way. Will it make any difference?
