Date: Sun, 20 Apr 2003 20:38:51 -0500 After using CT,NA,TR and Writelog, that for me CT,NA was the simplest to get up and running TR has a little bit higher learning curve but I feel there is no better CW contesting program. But there are fewer folks using DOS these days so Writelog and N1MM are becoming very popular since they are only run under Windows FYI CT is now freeware at www.k1ea.com and N1MM is also freeware at http://pages.cthome.net/n1mm/ Jonesy K9NX K2 # 3198 ++++++++++++++++++ Date: Sun, 20 Apr 2003 19:10:37 -0700 From: Vic Rosenthal Organization: Transparent Software To: Gary Lee Cc: Elecraft Subject: Re: [Elecraft] CT logging program? Hmm, this doesn't work either. It does work in MSDOS mode. This is annoying because my laptop's battery doesn't seem to charge properly in MSDOS mode! Oh well, if anyone has any other ideas for making CT work under Windows 95, please let me know. I am only trying to get it to talk to the K2 on the serial link at this point -- I haven't tested the parallel port CW yet. Thanks! Cc: Elecraft I believe it would be easier to make a new hardware profile called Contest. It's been a few years since I have done the profile thing, but it's something like this .... When you make the Contest profile it will be the same as the Default hardware profile. While using the contest profile, go into Device Manager and remove the com ports and lpt ports. When you reboot it should ask you which profile you want to use .... select Contest. Then run CT in a DOS window and it should allow CT to control the COM and LPT ports to control the K2 and LPT will key the K2, and you can wire the paddle into the LPT plug and use the PC as a keyer.
