It is quite a bit higher than the qsos freq. of 28.120 and turns out it was APRS. It had this text in the beginning, "http://go.to/BEACONET" so I went and checked it out. These people are using PSK31 instead of ax.25 to do an APRS network. The PSK31 half of the software package doesn't decode as well as digipan or mixw, but it fakes a necessary network connection to the other half of the software package, ui-view. I guess it's beneficial to the contest rover, and fixed station who wants to work a rover. You know, for 2M and up. They also have some science going, collecting "spots" during meteors and stuff like that. To you regular readers of QST this isn't new, but I missed that article and so it's new to me. Did y'all know you could do APRS with a K2 and PC? Jim ++++++++++++++++++
