Both the KAT2 and KAT100 (like other autotuners) have significant stray reactances that are unique to their PCB layout, relay types, etc. So the results obtained by looking at just the L-network components themselves may be misleading, especially on the highest bands. Still, the answers should be in the right ballpark. The good news is that the tuners are very good at tuning out thier own strays. 73, Wayne N6KR Bob - AG5Q wrote: > > A nice javascript program on this page: > > http://www.hoflink.com/~mkozma/match19c.html > > will enable you to see if a particular antenna can be tuned with the KAT2 > or the KAT100. > > The second and third circuits on the page correspond to the circuit > configurations > implemented in these tuners. ++++++++++++++ Reply-To: From: "Ron D'Eau Claire" To: Subject: RE: [Elecraft] KAT100 Question Date: Sun, 1 Dec 2002 16:39:46 -0800 I'll add to Dave's comment that the L-match circuit in the KAT100 should be more efficient than a T-network type ATU. T-network tuners are "common" but definitely not "preferable" if one is going for lowest losses overall. Ron AC7AC K2 # 1289 ++++++++++++++
