4CX1000A TETRODE AMP PROJECT:
After getting 2x 4CX1000A - new in box (not pulls) from RF engineer (ex South Africa) VE3XZS - Johan, who was my colleague at work - now SK, I decided to put the old tubes to some use. He had four of them and kept two for himself.
Having done some prior extensive work on my TMC-PAL-1k Tetrode linear (uses an Eimac 8295A), I figured it is OK to build something from scratch. Well, it is exactly not from scratch - because, I'm using the tried and trusted Tetrode-boards from GM3SEK - as the main control circuitry. And, the Harbach soft-start board is used in the HV PSU.
Here are a few pictures of the Proto-HB HV PSU for this project. The Screen and other low voltage supplies are in another module. The RF deck is still in its proto-stage.
This is still a work-in-progress....(winters-only project :-) )
