My name Andrew, aged 33. QTH: Little town named Sertolovo, very close from St.Peterburg (KP50CD),where i live with my family. My house is typically russian "termit-building" have a 9 floors (36 mtrs up) and situated in place with 70 mtrs USL. All mast and antennes placed on the roof of this building. My shack include HF and VHF components, most build handmade or modified from old military and commercial equipment.
Mainly I'm interessed for packet radio and digital communications on VHF/UHF, what's why i very seldom worked on HF, just haven't time. I'd more like waste time with computer and soldering.
Since middle of 2000 i still very strong Linux enthusiast, and last time
too much time wasted for this great OS. But while Win9x some things made better, so i have 2 OS(Win/X_Linux) on my main PC (P2-300), and only Linux on my home-server PC(P100). All AX25 stuff, I-net services (NNTP/SMTP/IMAP/Proxy/Dialinout/FTP/LocalDNS etc.), Samba, FIDO ,modems placed on P100 Linux server. Win-PC used as workstation and used for browsing internet, make office documents and manage images. PC to PC linked via 10mb ethernet. Internet access now only dialup (v90).
Also i still cosysop of RZ1AWZ packet node/gateway in St.Peterburg, where i also working under Linux.
