VC2C DXPEDITION - THE AREA

This year's "Team Zone 2" dxpedition took place at "Camp Rupert", a work camp operated by the James Bay Development Corporation.   Camp Rupert is located  at KM 257 on the Route de la Baie James (James Bay Highway) right at the bridge that crosses the Rupert River.  We were about 257 KM north of Matagami, Quebec and about 100 KM east of the Cree village of Waskaganish, Quebec.

Just to the east of the Rupert River bridge there is a major set of rapids and waterfalls.   You'll see these in some of the photos below.   We also got the local chopper pilot to take a few aerial photographs of the area around Camp Rupert.    As you can see from the "Stop" sign below, French and Cree are the local languages in this part of the world.
