VB2R DXPEDITION - 2000

Panoramic view of the Team Zone 2 contest site taken from atop the 160m top loaded vertical

From left to right (click on photos to enlarge)

  1. 3 element 20m band monoband yagi and the 20m shack.  You can see Lac Ouescapis in the background

  2. The orange tarp in the background covers the two 10 KW gasoline powered generators used to power VB2R.   The blue tarp is covering the distribution boxes for the power cables.   The white masts in the foreground are supporting the 15m half-square array.  If you look carefully in the background you'll see the 40m four-square vertical array and the four element monoband yagi used on 10m.

  3. Again in the foreground you'll see the white masts which supported the 15m half-square array.   Off to the right in the background you'll see the pair of phased 80m verticals.   The small white trailer in the foreground housed the 160m shack; the tent trailer located behind the grey "Chevy" housed the 15m shack; the large trailer in the background was for 10m and the camperback on the green pickup truck housed the 80m shack.   The 40m shack is not visible as it was behind the row of trees in the back  in NB1B's mini-van. Again you can see the 10m yagi in the background.

  4. The entrance to our contest campsite.   Our site used to be an old Hydro Quebec workcamp.   One road leads down to Lac Ouescapis, while the other leads out to the "Route de la Baie James" (James Bay Highway) which starts in Matagami, Quebec and ends up on the eastern shores of Hudson's Bay.
