From time to time as interest dictates, Tri-City Amateur Radio Club, usually in conjuction with other clubs, offers  a 6 to 10 week program.  At the conclusion of this program, the exam is given for the Technician class amateur radio operator's license.

There is no charge for this course.  There is a charge for the license manual which is published by ARRL.  This manual covers the material you are required to know for the Technician class license.  It also includes the complete question pool from which your 35 question exam is randomly selected.

Classes are scheduled as interest dictates.
If you would like to express your interest and be informed of the next class, please send an email to this address:

We would also encourage you to get started on your own if you are so inclined. The license manual is available from  ARRL by mail and is written to be undertaken as a self study program.

Once you begin to feel comfortable with the material, there are several on-line ham radio sites that provide free simulations of the exam you will take. These exams are taken from the same question pool as your actual exam. At the end of the exam, you'll get your score and be informed that you're ready for the real thing!
