10-x # 64628 born in 1969 in town of Amalias, Greece.
John’s amateur activities began when he was first licenced (a life time dream come true) in 1988 at age 18.
Elmer, well-known DX’er and contester chase countries, prefixes, QSL’s,and photos of other hams.
He adds that althought he had to learn CW for his licence, he rarely uses it and works mostly phone.
His paper!!! logbooks contained 88562 QSOs from his first CQ in 1988 till summer of 2001.
He is also interested in aviation, music, stamps. Ex-calls: J43A(‘91), J43O(‘92-‘96-2K), J43TEI(‘93).
John spends much of his time working DX! Some of the hard earned award obtained:

John has been very active in contests, as a matter of fact, during the CQ WW contest’91,
he worked barefoot 125 countries (single band DXCC in 48h.
contest period without cluster help!) fact that gave him the 4th World place single band low power , 1st in Europe.
He is also interested in beacons and runs one on 10m 28.182.5 on a vertical antenna with the power of 4 watts and
a second one on 2m 144.488,0Mhz CW with 5 watts power on a big wheel, both running 24 hours a day.
John works as a civil engineer and lives in Patras,(KM08UF)Greece, with his wife Corina SV3GUR.
