FCC Public Release, 8 June1999 U.S. Ham radio operators having any license other than the Novice class, may now temporarily operate amateur radio stations in European (CEPT) countries. This new rule makes it easy to operate while traveling in Europe. |
|
Can a foreigner RadioAmateur operate in Greece?
Radio amateurs who are citizens of the Europeans (CEPT) countries and they hold a valid and in force radio amateur operating licence in their home country, can operate temporarily mobile and/or portable and/or maritime mobile in GREECE (not a fixed station), without applying for a temporary licence, provided their stay in Greece does not exceed the period of three months.
The regular licence covers the fixed station and all the above as well. It is renewable every three years, and for it's issue the same conditions as for Greek citizens apply. The national radio amateur operating licence, must always be brought along and presented to the authorities upon their request! The operation within the district of Mount Athos is subject to the official written permission of the local administration of the holy community.
