The Atcher tower site was located in a field next to the Arlington Hts. MacDonalds.  It was an old brick building that was easily accessible to the local mouse population.  One cold winter day some people noticed the repeater was not getting out well.  When we opened the station high voltage power supply up, there was the remains of a mouse stretched out between the terminals of the high voltage (1500V) filter cap.  When he settled down for his last nap in the nice warm power supply, he took out the rectifier diodes!  Guaranteed he won't do that again!
