14 March 2022.
Thanks for
organizing the Virginia QSO Party. We will be
looking for you guys in September for Salmon
Run. I just want to remind the operators
that we are 3 hours behind you so don't got to the "high" (40
and 80) too early in the day. West Coast
propagation has not gone for us year.
Have a great day
and have fun

7 February 2022. From VQP:
FT-8 mode allowed.
But QSOs must follow same rules as other modes.
VQP requires serial number and QTH.
The serial is a sequential number.
NOT the 599 or the -16 used as a signal report.
The QTH is:
The three letter QTH abbreviations for VA
counties and independent cities
The two letter abbreviations for states and
Canadian provinces/ territories
DX for other foreign counties.
Maidenhead grid coordinates are not valid QTHs.
We know of no easy way for WSJT-X to do QSOs in the VQP.
Free form text messages could work, but the
number of people who know about and do this is very, very small.
We look forward to the day when WSJT-X includes
support for the most basic of contest exchanges.

1 January 2022
The rules currently state: VHF - 50.130, 144.200 (CW & SSB),
146.580 and 223.50 MHz.
However, 146.58 is NOT WORKING for 2M QSO Party contacts because
there are more stations on 2M FM than on other VHF bands.
It has become almost impossible to make contacts because
everyone is on one frequency.
It would be better to say "2 meter simplex" or to state a number
of simplex frequencies that are in the ARRL band plan like:
"146.4, 146.415, 146.43, 146.445, 146.46, 146.475, 146.49,
146.505, 146.535, 146.55, 146.565, 146.58"

Yes. A little to late to change rules this year.
We have to remember to search up and down a little to look for
open air and others calling.
